So..have you guys heard about how women are now serving in the front lines of battle in war now? We were talking about it today in my US History class, and he asked specifically what the women in the class had thought about it. And he seemed to have some sort of knowing look on his face, and it was accompanied by something like confirmation when this one chick spoke up. I can see what he had assumed, seeing as she said something well..that was hypocritical. That women should be allowed to fight in the front lines but when asked the follow up question; "Would you be alright with being drafted if something like the selected service act came back to authority?" and her immediate first response was; "Hell no!" Apparently she considered herself special.

I'm not going to rant or anything, but it was that kind of face-palm moment where I regretted being the same gender as her. But really, what do you all think about that? I'm just curious! I mean, most of us are women here RPing but even guys, give your opinions!

My own? If any of you are curious..seeing as I am female, I said that I thought it was a great chance to have more equality. That men and women could stand side by side fighting for the country they love. But some valid points were made, that I could agree with yet still hold my opinion strong. Such as this:

  • What if the woman had to help her six foot, two-hundred something pound comrade if he gets hit? Could she carry him back to base like a man could?
  • What about the idea of sexual activity?
  • What if she happened to get pregnant?
  • Rape is a thing that could happen, and if the woman was captured by the enemy she'd go through torturous methods far more severe than any mans
  • Can a woman match the equal strength of a mans?

Those were some great points, because on principle alone you cannot physically change or do anything. But women are smart. Women are strong. Couldn't they do the same a man could? Wouldn't they actually have some advantages in war? What are your opinions?

and the next journal I make will be a smoochy like Valentine Day Event <3

((Wow. I also heard this in my history class, but I never put it into much thought like this. Honestly, this is a hard subject for me, because I believe women should have the same rights as men, but we're different than men altogether.

I believe both genders are equal, but in different ways. If that made any sense :XD:

Those are all very good points. I think it all comes down to motivation and determination. A woman could do it if she really works hard. I believe she should be able to fight if she's willing to work hard and take those risks.))
